What this covers
This policy explains how personal information is handled by Tilesbazzar ("we", "us"). It covers this website and the accounts, plans and inquiries on it.
What we collect
When you create an account
- Your name and mobile number. The mobile number is required — it identifies your account.
- Your email address, if you choose to give one. It is optional.
- Your password, stored only as a one-way hash. We cannot read it, and nor can anyone with access to our database.
- If you sign in with Google: your name, your email address and your Google account identifier. We never receive your Google password.
When you buy a plan
- Which plan you bought, the amount, the dates it runs between, and how many verification inquiries you have used.
- We do not store card or bank details. Payment is arranged directly with our team.
When you raise a verification inquiry
- The company or shop name you want checked, the contact person's name and number, your message, and the visiting card image if you upload one.
- Our findings, the status of the inquiry, and when it was reviewed.
When you contact us
- Your name, the mobile number or email you give us, and your message.
Automatically, as you use the site
- Standard server records: your IP address, browser, the pages requested and when. These are kept to run the site securely and diagnose faults.
What we use it for
- To give you an account, sign you in, and keep you signed in.
- To run your plan — activating it, showing what you have left, and ending it when the period is up.
- To carry out the verification inquiries you raise and report the findings back to you.
- To reply to messages you send us.
- To keep the site secure, prevent abuse and fraud, and fix problems.
- To meet our legal and accounting obligations.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.
Your mobile number and SMS
Your mobile number does more work here than anywhere else, so it is worth being clear about it. We use it to identify your account at sign-in, and to send a one-time password by SMS when you reset your password. To send that message, your number is passed to the SMS provider that delivers it.
We do not send marketing messages to your number, and we do not publish it or show it to other users.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only in these situations:
- Service providers who help us run the site — our hosting provider, and the SMS provider that delivers one-time passwords. They may only use what they receive to provide that service to us.
- Google, if you choose to sign in with Google, which handles that sign-in.
- Where the law requires it — to comply with a legal obligation, or to establish or defend legal claims.
- If the business is transferred, as part of a sale or reorganisation, with this policy continuing to apply.
Companies listed on the site do not receive your details from us. Viewing a company's contact details does not tell that company anything about you — if you get in touch with them, that is your choice and your information to share.
Details about other people
A verification inquiry is about someone else — a business, and often a named person at it. We process those details only to carry out the check you asked for, and we keep the result with your inquiry so you have a record of it.
By raising an inquiry you confirm you are entitled to share those details with us, and that you have a genuine business reason for the check. If you are the subject of an inquiry and want to know what we hold, contact us.
Cookies
We use the cookies the site needs to work: one that keeps you signed in and remembers your session, and one that protects forms against cross-site request forgery.
We also use Google Analytics (through Firebase) to understand how the site is used — which pages get visited, roughly how much traffic we get, and where it comes from. It sets its own cookies to do this and, like any Google Analytics setup, some information reaches Google. We use it to see how the site is performing, not to build advertising profiles, and we do not use it to target ads at you. There is no other advertising or tracking script on this site.
Blocking cookies in your browser will stop you from signing in, and will also stop analytics from running.
How long we keep it
- Account details: for as long as your account is open, and for a reasonable period afterwards.
- Plan and payment records: as long as our accounting and tax obligations require.
- Inquiries, including visiting cards and findings: kept as your record of the check, and removed on request unless we need to keep them for a legal reason.
- Messages you send us: kept while we deal with them and for a reasonable period after.
- Server records: kept for a short period for security and diagnostics.
How we protect it
The site is served over an encrypted connection, passwords are stored as one-way hashes, uploaded visiting cards are not publicly accessible, and access to personal information is limited to the people who need it to do their work. No system is perfectly secure, but if a breach ever affected your information we would tell you and the relevant authority as the law requires.
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to:
- Tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy.
- Correct anything that is wrong — you can also update your own details from your profile.
- Delete your account and the information attached to it, where we are not required to keep it.
- Stop using your information for a particular purpose.
Contact us and we will deal with your request. We may need to confirm who you are first — usually through the mobile number on the account.
Children
This is a business-to-business service and is not intended for anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has given us their details, tell us and we will remove them.
Changes to this policy
We will update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows when it last changed, and we will make a reasonable effort to tell you about anything that materially affects you.
